President’s Message

A warm welcome to all my fellow tablers and friends. This year marks the 17th Anniversary of the Colombo Taprobane Round Table since our Charter in 1999; and what a year it’s going to be.

The Year has started on a historic note for our table with two of our members elected to the Round Table International Board, President Altaf Jeevunjee and Treasurer/ASPA Chairman Ibrahim Saleem. This Year we hope to increase the awareness of Round Tabling through our many initiatives planned out for the year.

CTRT3 has done a great deal of work with the Kids off the Street project. I strongly feel that this great work that we are doing has enabled us as a table to continuously contribute to society. Project “Killinochchi” could be seen as this year’s main community service project. spearheaded by ctrt3 with the support of our Corporate Parners MAS holdings at a cost of LKR 3 Million. This would be a community center providing much needed infrastructure which will house a Maternity Clinic, Pediatric Clinic, Pre School and Childrens Playground. Projects & Community Service activities give purpose and great satisfaction to our tablers. We will continue to add value to the various projects brought by our community service committee.

Without Fund Raising, our projects and services will not be possible. This year too we plan to host 3rd Annual comedy evening together with a host of International Comedians, which is to be held in December 2015. We have an interesting event planned up for early part of 2016 as well which we announce in due cource. As we kick off our 2015/16 year, we at CTRT3 are committed to the support of the projects undertaken and the programs that make the biggest impact on the lives of people around us.
